TBR Featured Review

The most unique sci-fi novel I’ve read in years.

What happens when the world gets too optimized? Joel E. Lorentzen, the author, answers that question in his unique, inventive and thought-provoking novel, Proles - a novel about 2084. In the not too distant future, the gap between the have’s and the have nots is as wide as it has ever been, but not for the reason you may think. Money is not the cause in the future, optimization more

1. What is a free book listing?

All authors may sign up for free in order to receive their own book or ebook page that is available for everyone to view. Each book or ebook gets their own page. Once you fill in the Author Sign up page and are approved by TBR, you may then add in one or more books that you have written.

TBR’s free book listing includes: Author name, Book title, Synopsis, Genre, ISBN numbers and Upload of Book cover.

2. How do I receive a book review from TBR?

Having your book or ebook reviewed by TBR is quite simple. First you need to become a free member and add your book information in the Author member's section once you log in. Secondly, you need to pay for the review ($99 US). Then you will be able to upload the Digital Proof Copy in Adobe PDF form of your book to our TBR server. After that, it will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks for your review to be completed.

3. Why a Digital Proof Copy of the book? Why not ship a physical copy of the book to TBR?

We at TBR are concerned about two important things. First, starting your book review as quickly as possible. Secondly, we are an environmentally friendly company and are always looking for ways to improve our world. Traditionally, the book review process is to mail in your book and then the book is mailed to the reviewer. This takes time. In this age of rapidly progressing technology, we can now save some of that time and send a review back to you that much faster.

Since you are uploading a digital copy of your book, there is no cost to you for shipping or for the book itself. Also, our reviewers are all over the world therefore we do not incur shipping costs ourselves. This saves at least 2 weeks in shipping time. We receive many books each month digitally. Imagine if they were all shipped. The wasted cost of shipping and the extra time that takes would be staggering.

4. What is a Digital Proof Copy? What if I don’t have one?

Your publisher will have had you sign off on the Digital Proof of your book (exactly how it will be printed) before going to print. This should be in an Adobe PDF format. We also now take e-book formats.

If you do not have it, you can contact your publisher and they should email you your Digital Proof copy.

5. What about Copyright? Do I lose any rights?

No, your book is your book. The Digital Proof of your book contains your copyright information. We at TBR also protect your Digital Copy by a password protecting your PDF. Only the assigned reviewer will be able to read your book in the assigned timeframe.

6. When can I add my Bio and Author picture and other information?

You will be able to add this information once you have purchased a TBR review.

7. How does the review process work?

Once you have uploaded your book for review, it sits in a queue waiting for an available reviewer of that genre. Once the reviewer is picked, they download your book, read it and then review it. Within 4 to 6 weeks, the reviewer will then submit the review, which we here at TBR check ourselves. Yes, we review the reviews. Once we have checked the review, you may then read it and decide whether to approve it so the public may also read it.

8. What if I do not like my review?

Our goal here at TBR is to give unbiased honest and tactful reviews. We do not offer a guarantee that you will like your review, but then again you may love it. We realize that this has taken a lot of time and effort to write and is extremely important to you, but you also came to TBR for an objective view and we will provide that review with integrity. We do not offer refunds.

9. Where will my review be posted?

First of all, this is your review. You can post all of the review or portions of it on any marketing material, websites and even book covers that you have. However, we must be credited as the source of that review  For example:

”Incredible story. A page tuner!”

We at TBR are THE place for book reviews. We ask that you keep our reviews in the format example above.

Your review will be posted on, Barnes & Noble and Google books and Amazon's Editoral Review Section (as the author, you can post our book review in the editorial section). A Tweet will be sent out to our Twitter followers as well.

10. What if I do not want my review posted?

When you sign in to your Author members page you will need to approve your review for posting (Tagline, Review 1).  Just click the appropriate box. We respect your privacy and the review is yours to publicize if you choose.
