A must read for 2013! One of those novels you pick up and can’t put down.

The Three Souls was engaging from the very first page.  We start out with Johnny Chambers who is a regular guy, just trying to scrape by and make a living for himself and his wife Kitty.  Life takes a turn for the worse when he is falsely convicted of a crime and sent to prison.  He moves from county jail to the “big house” where you try and keep a low profile just to survive.  Bill W. Thomas, the author, shows how difficult life can be when dealing with the pecking order there…from the warden and guards to the inmates.

Johnny starts work in prison pounding out license plates for the state of Texas.  He meets two inmates, Vinnie and David, who have had near death experiences.  As he gets to know them, he becomes convinced that they are Vincent Van Gogh and Amadeus Mozart reincarnated.  Johnny finds some blackmail material and convinces one of the guards named Schultz to help him talk to the Warden.  Before you know it, David and Vinnie are getting art and music supplies.  It turns out that they do have this sudden talent and more people start believing that they really have been reincarnated.  The Warden goes along with this until an article in the local newspaper is published about the art program.  The Warden cancels the program and decides to sell the art for his own profit.  Not only that, but things are becoming even more dangerous in prison.  This leaves Johnny, David and Vinnie looking for an escape plan.  The plot flows smoothly throughout and Thomas builds to a nail biting climax.
Once the guys escaped from prison I was totally hooked and had to hide away so I could finish this novel in one read.  That doesn’t happen often and I was left thinking, “What a great book!  I would highly recommend it.”  Thanks to Bill W. Thomas for passing on some good karma and sharing this story.  I am looking forward to more from him.
